Mike Sprayberry, Councilmember – Post 4




Mike was born in Newnan, Georgia in 1969. His father was in the United States Air Force so he has lived in many places around the country although Sharpsburg, Georgia was what his family always considered to be home.

Mike graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia in 1987.

After his father’s retirement in 1989 from the U.S. Air Force, he moved back home to Sharpsburg, Georgia.

Mike married his wife Kay in 1991 and lived in Newnan, Georgia. Mike and Kay were blessed with the birth of their first child, their son, Joshua in 1994. Mike, Kay and Joshua moved from Newnan to Whitesburg in 1994. In 1998, they were blessed with the birth of their second child, their daughter, Anna.

Mike has been employed by Hoshizaki America in Peachtree City, Georgia since 1991.

Mike also has been Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia since 1996.

Mike also served as Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 2424 during the time his son Joshua was in Cub Scouts. After Joshua crossed over into Boy Scouts, Mike served Boy Scout Troop 2424 as Chaplain.

Mike has served the City of Whitesburg as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee from 2014 until 2016. In 2016 he was elected to Post 4 of the Whitesburg City Council.

In his spare time, when not spending time with his family, Mike likes to spend time outdoors, fishing and hunting.  He also enjoys working on projects around the house and the church.
